Information about the Graduate Recruitment Scheme

Graduate Finance Training scheme We're looking for bright, ambitious graduates who will become the future leaders of a wide range of key Government departments. A comprehensive training programme will combine tailored job placements at a variety of locations with a three to four year programme of study towards a professional accounting qualification. You'll also have your own personal mentor to guide and advise you and management training to develop your leadership and communication skills.

Eligibility

To qualify for the scheme, you'll need a minimum 2.2 degree (or predicted) in any discipline. You must be self-motivated, determined and ambitious, you'll also be prepared to move around locations and posts, to progress your career.

What the scheme offers

The graduate scheme offers a range of job placements in a number of departments at a variety of locations. Virtually every kind of accountancy role is available within central government, including: business partnering; financial reporting; management accounting; audit; compliance; projects; taxation; and forensic accounting. An example of life as a trainee is outlined in the attached PDF document.

To succeed on the scheme you will need to have drive, energy, excellent communication skills, an interest in government business and a willingness to work in a range of placements.
